NCT ID NCT06632353

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study explores whether fluid from the skin can be used to detect signs of heart disease. Researchers will collect skin fluid and blood samples from 30 volunteers, including older adults with heart failure and younger healthy adults. The goal is to see if certain biomarkers in skin fluid can help diagnose or monitor cardiovascular conditions.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could lead to a simple skin test for early detection of heart disease, potentially allowing for earlier treatment.

What could go wrong

This is a very small, early-stage study focused on measuring biomarkers, not treating disease. It may not find reliable markers or translate into a practical test.
