Scientists hunt for clues in blood to predict dangerous drug reactions

NCT ID NCT03409016

Summary

This study aims to find signs in the blood that might predict which cancer patients will experience serious side effects from a newer type of drug called immune checkpoint inhibitors. It involves 69 adults with metastatic cancer who are starting either this immunotherapy or standard chemotherapy. The research only involves taking blood samples at four time points to look for these predictive markers, with no experimental treatments given.
