Scientists hunt for blood clues to tame unpredictable swelling attacks

This study aimed to find biomarkers (measurable substances in the blood) that could help doctors diagnose bradykinin angioedema and predict how severe attacks might be. The condition causes sudden, unpredictable swelling, and current tests don't work well for all types. Researchers planned to compare blood proteins from patients with the condition to healthy people, but the study was stopped early after enrolling only one participant.
