New combo therapy shows promise for tough bile duct cancer
NCT ID NCT07569679
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a new way to treat bile duct cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. It combines chemotherapy given directly into the liver with standard IV chemo, plus two additional drugs (adebrelimab and apatinib) that boost the immune system and block tumor growth. The trial will enroll 124 people and compare this combination to the same chemo regimen without the extra drugs.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
adebrelimab and apatinib
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a new treatment option that combines chemotherapy with immunotherapy and targeted therapy to better control biliary tract cancer.
What could go wrong
This is an early Phase 2 study with only 124 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. Adding more drugs also raises the risk of side effects.
