New pill targets tough cancers after other treatments fail
NCT ID NCT05512377
Summary
This study tested whether an oral medicine called BI 907828 could help control advanced cancers of the bile duct, pancreas, lung, or bladder that had a specific genetic pattern (MDM2 amplified, TP53 wild-type) and had stopped responding to standard treatments. All 99 participants took the pill once every three weeks for as long as they benefited and could tolerate it. Doctors regularly checked if tumors shrank or stopped growing and monitored participants' health and side effects.
