New pill shows promise for tough blood cancers in early trial

Summary
This early-phase study tests a new oral drug called BH-30236 in adults whose acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) has returned or not responded to prior treatments. The main goals are to check safety, find the right dose, and see if the drug can shrink or control the cancer. About 170 participants will take the drug alone or with another medication (venetoclax).
