Summary
This study aims to improve smoking cessation treatments specifically for people living with HIV, who smoke at higher rates and have more difficulty quitting than the general population. Researchers will test whether personalizing medication choices based on how a person's body processes nicotine, combined with support to help them take their medication consistently, leads to better quit rates. The goal is to help reduce smoking-related health risks that are actually greater than the risks from HIV itself for this population.
