NCT ID NCT01812031

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tested a special way of taking PET scans that accounts for breathing movements. The goal was to see if it could better detect small lung nodules in 103 patients with lung cancer or COPD. Participants had a standard PET scan plus an extra 10-minute scan while following a breathing pattern, followed by a short breath-hold CT. The approach aims to reduce false readings from motion.
