First seen Nov 15, 2025 · Last updated Apr 21, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study aims to find the most effective screening method for detecting early signs of cervical cancer in women living with HIV in Latin America. Researchers will compare different tests (cervical swabs, self-collected vaginal swabs, urine tests, and biopsies) on 1,002 participants to determine which approach best identifies pre-cancerous changes. Women found to have concerning results will be referred for treatment to prevent cancer development.
