New scan aims to spot hidden breast cancer
NCT ID NCT05036083
Summary
This study tested whether a special type of mammogram, which uses a contrast dye injected into the vein, is better at finding all areas of breast cancer in women who were getting a second opinion at a major cancer center. The goal was to see if this method could find cancers that standard scans might miss and help patients avoid unnecessary biopsies. Researchers compared the new scan's results to standard imaging and to the final pathology reports from surgery.
