First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This early-stage study tests whether beta-sitosterol, a safe plant compound found in traditional Chinese medicine, can help people recover from a severe type of stroke called subarachnoid hemorrhage. About 40 adults who had a bleeding stroke will receive beta-sitosterol within 48 hours. Researchers will check for side effects and measure improvements in brain function and daily living skills.
