New study tracks beta cell decline in younger vs older diabetes patients
NCT ID NCT07574138
First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026
Summary
This study aims to understand how beta cell function changes over one year in people with early-onset type 2 diabetes (under 40) compared to those diagnosed later (40 or older). Researchers will follow 296 Vietnamese patients, measuring blood markers like C-peptide and HbA1C at regular visits. The goal is to learn whether younger patients experience faster decline, which could guide future treatment approaches.
