Massive study aims to solve ICU dilemma: when to start Life-Saving kidney dialysis?

NCT ID NCT03629977

Summary

This study aims to find out if starting continuous kidney dialysis (CRRT) earlier is better than starting it later for critically ill patients with sudden kidney failure. Researchers will analyze the medical records of 50,000 ICU patients from three Swedish hospitals to compare survival rates and long-term health between 'early' and 'late' treatment groups. The goal is to provide clearer guidance for doctors on the best timing for this common but critical ICU treatment.
