NCT ID NCT07436754
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares two remote training programs for 300 people who have had a mild traumatic brain injury (concussion) and struggle with emotional awareness and regulation. One program teaches participants to recognize and label their emotions, while the other focuses on general brain health and goal-setting. The goal is to see which approach better reduces emotional confusion, anger, and stress. All sessions are done via video call, making it accessible from home.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Building Emotional Self-awareness Teletherapy (BEST) - a behavioral program teaching emotion recognition and regulation
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could provide an effective, accessible remote therapy to help people with mild traumatic brain injury better understand and manage their emotions, reducing distress and improving quality of life.
- What could go wrong
- This is a behavioral intervention study, not a drug trial, so results may be modest. The outcomes rely on self-reported questionnaires, which can be subjective. Also, the study is still recruiting, so final results are years away.
