Study tests if lying down or sitting up is better for surgery pain relief

NCT ID NCT07018258

Summary

This study aimed to find the best way to position patients when giving a specific type of pain-blocking injection after gallbladder removal surgery. Researchers compared giving the injection while patients were lying on their side, lying on their stomach, or sitting up. They measured how much pain patients felt afterward, how much extra pain medicine they needed, and how satisfied they were with their pain control.
