First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 01, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looks at whether berberine, a natural compound, can improve cognitive problems like memory and attention in people with schizophrenia. One hundred adults aged 18-60 will take either berberine or a placebo pill for 12 weeks, in addition to their regular antipsychotic medication. Researchers will track changes in thinking skills, inflammation, and gut bacteria to understand how berberine might work.
