New triple combo aims to tackle Hard-to-Treat liver cancer

NCT ID NCT07537777

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This phase 2 trial tests a combination of two drugs (Benmelstobart and Anlotinib) plus targeted radiation (SBRT) in 29 adults with liver cancer that has spread to a few other spots and no longer responds to first-line treatment. The goal is to see if this triple therapy can slow cancer growth and improve survival. Participants will receive treatment for up to 2 years, with close monitoring for side effects and tumor response.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Benmelstobart (an immunotherapy drug), Anlotinib (a targeted therapy drug), and SBRT (a precise type of radiation therapy)

What this could lead to

If this combination works, it could offer a new treatment option for people with advanced liver cancer that has spread and stopped responding to initial therapy.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-phase trial with only 29 participants and no comparison group, so results may not apply broadly. The combination of drugs and radiation may cause significant side effects.
