Bringing the MRI to the bedside: a new hope for predicting coma recovery

NCT ID NCT07177755

Summary

This study aims to test if a new, portable, low-power MRI machine can work at a patient's bedside to help doctors predict recovery from a coma caused by cardiac arrest. It will compare brain scans from this portable machine to those from standard, powerful hospital MRI machines in 60 patients and healthy volunteers. The goal is to gather information to help design future tools for earlier and more accurate predictions of a patient's chances of waking up and recovering brain function.
