NCT ID NCT03472664

First seen Apr 14, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study compares two diets—a low-carb (ketogenic) diet and a low-fat diet—in 120 adults with mild cognitive impairment (early memory loss). Participants follow their assigned diet for 16 weeks, then return to normal eating. Researchers measure changes in thinking skills, brain blood flow, and Alzheimer's-related proteins. The goal is to see if diet can improve brain health and slow disease progression.
