Summary
This study tests if giving repeated BCG vaccines (usually used for tuberculosis) can improve blood sugar control and reduce insulin needs in children aged 8 to 17 who were recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. The goal is to see if the vaccine can calm the immune system and help the body keep making some insulin. About 100 children will take part, and researchers will track changes in HbA1c, C-peptide levels, and insulin use over time.
