Can tackling food and housing needs improve health for diabetic kidney patients?

NCT ID NCT05357742

Summary

This study tested whether a support program could help low-income African Americans with diabetic kidney disease who face challenges like food or housing insecurity. Fifty participants were randomly assigned to receive either the full program—which included education, help meeting basic needs, and lifestyle coaching—or just the education. The main goal was to see if the program was practical to run and if it could improve health measures like blood sugar and quality of life over six months.
