Doctors test emergency balloon to save more cardiac arrest victims

Summary

This study is testing if a small balloon can be placed in a major artery during a cardiac arrest to help improve blood flow to the brain and heart. It will be done by a specialized air ambulance team on 40 patients who have collapsed outside of a hospital. The goal is to see if this procedure is possible in an emergency setting and if it helps improve key signs of circulation during resuscitation efforts.
