One-Shot treatment aims to stop dangerous gut infection from coming back

Summary

This study is testing if a single dose of an investigational drug called AZD5148 can prevent a C. difficile infection (CDI) from coming back after initial treatment. About 230 adults who have recently been treated for a CDI will receive either AZD5148 or a placebo (inactive substance) to see which is better at preventing recurrence. The main goal is to see if the drug safely reduces the chance of the infection returning within 91 days.
