NCT ID NCT07400276

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether a 12-week Ayurveda-inspired program combining a special diet, yoga, and breathing exercises was practical for adults with type 2 diabetes. Seventeen people started, and twelve completed the program. Participants followed the plan at least five days a week with phone and text support. The study found the program was safe and doable, and those who finished showed improvements in blood sugar, weight, waist size, and stress levels. Larger studies are needed to confirm these benefits.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Ayurvedic diet, yoga, and breathing program

What this could lead to

If larger studies confirm these results, this program could offer a safe, drug-free way to help manage type 2 diabetes alongside standard care.

What could go wrong

This was a very small feasibility study with only 12 completers. The results are promising but not proof of effectiveness, and the program requires significant lifestyle changes that may not work for everyone.
