First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests whether a digital avatar (virtual coach) program can help young adults aged 18-29 who come to the emergency department with alcohol misuse and suicidal thoughts. About 60 participants will either use the avatar program with supportive texts or a free suicide safety app. The main goal is to see if the program is easy to use and if people stick with daily surveys for 28 days and follow-ups over 12 weeks.
