First seen Nov 16, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested a drug called avapritinib in 29 children aged 2 to 18 with advanced solid tumors that have specific gene changes (KIT or PDGFRA). The goal was to see if the drug is safe and can shrink tumors. Since these children had no other treatment options, the study aimed to control the disease rather than cure it.
