MS study probes hidden nerve damage to improve daily life
NCT ID NCT05748015
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at how multiple sclerosis affects the autonomic nervous system, which controls automatic body functions like heart rate and sweating. Researchers will use skin biopsies and heart tests to measure nerve damage in 60 people with relapsing-remitting or primary progressive MS. The goal is to better understand symptoms like dizziness and temperature issues, and to see if different MS types have different patterns of nerve involvement.

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could lead to better management of symptoms like dizziness and temperature control in multiple sclerosis patients.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early observational study with only 60 participants, so findings may not apply to all MS patients and may not lead to new treatments.
