New blood pressure device could give more accurate readings in chinese patients
NCT ID NCT03454178
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether an automatic blood pressure machine (WatchBP Office) gives more accurate readings than the traditional manual method in 149 Chinese adults with high blood pressure. The automatic machine takes several readings and averages them, which may reduce the 'white-coat effect' (nervousness that raises blood pressure in the doctor's office). Results were compared to a 48-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitor, the current gold standard.
