First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested a 6-week Integrated Attention Training Program (IATP) in 120 older adults aged 60-90 who had both anxiety symptoms and subjective memory complaints. Participants were randomly assigned to either the attention training or a health education control group. The goal was to see if the training improved cognitive functions like attention and executive function, reduced anxiety, and lowered inflammation markers. Results are not yet available.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a non-drug way to help older adults with anxiety and memory concerns think more clearly and feel less anxious.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with no blinding for participants, and the benefits may not last beyond the 6-week program or apply to everyone.
