First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tests whether atorvastatin, a common cholesterol medicine, can prevent migraine attacks in people who have 4 to 14 migraines per month. About 450 adults will take either 20mg, 40mg, or a placebo daily for several months. Researchers will track changes in migraine days, side effects, and medication use to confirm if this affordable drug is a safe and effective preventive option.
