At-home brain zaps tested to prevent depression relapse

NCT ID NCT07269964

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This pilot study tests whether a gentle, at-home brain stimulation device (tDCS) can help people with depression maintain their improvement after successful hospital treatments like esketamine, rTMS, or ECT. Thirty adults who have already improved will use the device for 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week, for 4 weeks. The study focuses on whether this home program is practical and well-tolerated, and whether it helps keep depressive symptoms from returning.
