Scientists hunt for new clues in blood to fight lung diseases

NCT ID NCT00793676

Summary

This study aimed to discover new biological markers in the blood that could help doctors better diagnose and monitor two common lung diseases: asthma and COPD. Researchers analyzed blood samples from 205 people, including healthy volunteers and patients with these conditions. The goal was to see if specific patterns of proteins in blood cells could serve as a 'fingerprint' for each disease and potentially help track how well treatments are working.
