Summary

This study tested whether amiloride, a drug that blocks a salt channel in blood vessels, can improve artery stiffness in overweight adults with insulin resistance. 137 pre- and postmenopausal women and age-matched men participated. The goal was to see if the drug could reduce the risk of heart problems by making arteries more flexible.
