Summary
This study tested whether aripiprazole, a medication, can reduce serious behavioral problems like irritability and agitation in children and adolescents (ages 6-17) with autistic disorder. 218 participants received either a fixed dose of aripiprazole or a placebo for 8 weeks. The main goal was to see if the drug improved behavior scores compared to placebo.
