First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study looked at 60 adults with severe lung injury (ARDS) on breathing machines. It compared two ventilation methods—APRV and low tidal volume—to see which one better protects the right side of the heart from failing. The goal was to find out if one method is safer for the heart, since heart problems are common in these patients.
