Summary
This study tested whether a smartphone app plus a monitoring system could help people with rheumatoid arthritis better manage sudden increases in disease activity (flares) between doctor visits. 190 adults with RA who owned a smartphone took part. The system used a web dashboard to track patient-reported symptoms and alert a trained manager who connected patients with their healthcare team. The goal was to improve treatment satisfaction and disease control.
