First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looked at whether veterans with PTSD would find a wearable device called Apollo acceptable and easy to use. The device delivers gentle vibrations at different times of day. 63 veterans used it for about 6 weeks, and researchers checked how credible and satisfying they found it.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Apollo Wearable System (a device that delivers gentle vibrations)
What this could lead to
If this device is found acceptable and feasible, it could offer a non-drug option to help manage PTSD symptoms in veterans.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early pilot study with no placebo group, so results may not prove the device actually reduces PTSD. It only measures if people like and use it.
