First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests three different naming treatments for people with aphasia, a language disorder often caused by stroke. The goal is to see which approach best helps participants remember words and use them in daily life. Thirty adults with chronic aphasia will practice naming pictures under different conditions, and their progress will be tracked for three months.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

naming treatment with adaptive deadlines

What this could lead to

If successful, this could point toward more effective speech therapy techniques that help people with aphasia remember words longer and use them in everyday life.

What could go wrong

This is a small early-phase study with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The treatments are behavioral and may not work for all types of aphasia.
