New device aims to make prolapse surgery safer and less painful
NCT ID NCT05836844
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study is testing a device called Anchorsure, used during surgery to fix pelvic organ prolapse (when organs like the uterus or bladder slip down). The device is meant to make the surgery faster, with less pain and fewer nerve injuries. Researchers will follow 120 women for 3 years to see if the device works well and is safe.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Anchorsure System® (a transvaginal anchoring device for sacrospinous ligament fixation)
What this could lead to
If successful, this device could offer a safer, less painful surgical option for women with pelvic organ prolapse, reducing recovery time and complications.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study without a comparison group, so results may not prove the device is better than existing treatments. Risks include pain, nerve injury, or device-related complications.
