Scientists hunt genetic clues to prevent deadly aortic ruptures

NCT ID NCT03440697

Summary

This study aims to discover the genetic causes of diseases that weaken the body's main artery (the aorta) and affect the heart's aortic valve. Researchers are collecting blood and tissue samples from 3,000 participants, including patients with these conditions and their family members, to build a detailed genetic database. The goal is to understand why these diseases develop and progress, which could lead to better prediction and future treatments.
