NCT ID NCT07663097

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at how feeling anxious or scared before prostate surgery affects recovery and satisfaction in men with an enlarged prostate. Researchers will follow 80 men who are having either laser or standard surgery. They will use questionnaires to measure anxiety, depression, urinary symptoms, and sexual function before and up to 3 months after surgery. The goal is to see if mental state before surgery influences how well patients do afterward.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to
If successful, this study could help doctors identify anxious patients who may need extra support before prostate surgery, potentially improving recovery and satisfaction.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. It only measures associations, so it cannot prove that reducing anxiety improves outcomes. Results may not apply to all patients.
