Extra nurse talks calm fears before scary hospital procedures
NCT ID NCT07286877
Summary
This study tests whether increasing nurse visits from twice to four times daily, combined with structured calming conversations and simple relaxation exercises, can reduce anxiety in hospitalized patients waiting for therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy procedures. Researchers will compare anxiety levels between the two approaches in 1,000 adult patients with mild anxiety who are scheduled for these procedures. The goal is to see if more supportive communication improves patient experience and potentially reduces medication needs and recovery time.
