Scientists track mental health drugs from mom to baby

NCT ID NCT05766007

Summary

This study aims to understand how pregnancy and breastfeeding affect long-acting injectable antipsychotic medications used for conditions like schizophrenia. Researchers will measure drug levels in the blood of pregnant and breastfeeding women, and also check how much of the medication passes to the baby through the placenta or breast milk. The goal is to gather information to help doctors and patients make safer, more informed treatment decisions during and after pregnancy.
