Doctors question routine antibiotics after common prostate procedure
NCT ID NCT05274672
Summary
This study aimed to find out if taking antibiotics for three days after a common laser surgery for an enlarged prostate (HoLEP) actually prevents urinary tract infections. It planned to compare men who received the antibiotics to those who did not. The goal was to help doctors avoid prescribing unnecessary antibiotics, which can lead to drug-resistant bacteria.
