First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether an anti-CMV drug (valganciclovir) combined with standard care can shrink brain tumors in breast cancer patients whose disease has spread to the brain and who also have a CMV infection. About 28 adults with progressive brain metastases and CMV will receive the drug for 6 weeks. The goal is to see if targeting the virus helps control the cancer.
