Do diabetes and blood sugar levels change how pain relief works?

NCT ID NCT07404124

Summary

This study aims to understand if diabetes affects how well a specific type of pain-blocking injection (an ankle block) works for patients having foot or ankle surgery. Researchers will observe and compare 46 patients—some with diabetes and some without—to see how quickly the pain block starts, how long it lasts, and how much pain medication is needed after surgery. The goal is to gather information to help doctors better manage pain for diabetic patients in the future.
