Which anesthesia is best for a calmer Wake-Up after septoplasty?

NCT ID NCT07304206

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at three different anesthesia methods to see which one causes less agitation when patients wake up from septoplasty (nose surgery). The methods tested were total intravenous anesthesia, combined inhaled and intravenous anesthesia, and inhaled anesthesia alone. Only 3 adults completed the study, so the results are very limited.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

sevoflurane, propofol, remifentanil

What this could lead to

If successful, this could help identify which anesthesia method causes less confusion and agitation after nose surgery.

What could go wrong

This is a very small completed trial with only 3 participants, so results may not apply to larger groups. The findings are preliminary.
