Stroke surgery anesthesia showdown: which method delivers better recovery?

NCT ID NCT07235514

Summary

This study aims to determine whether putting stroke patients fully to sleep (general anesthesia) or keeping them lightly sedated (procedural sedation) during emergency clot removal surgery leads to better recovery. Researchers will compare these two common anesthesia approaches in 958 stroke patients undergoing the procedure. The main goal is to see which method helps patients achieve greater independence in daily life three months after their stroke.
