Can a common anesthesia drug stop Post-Surgery confusion in the elderly?

NCT ID NCT06963112

Summary

This study is testing if giving a small dose of a sedative called midazolam during the start of anesthesia helps prevent confusion and anxiety in older adults after surgery. Researchers will compare the drug to a placebo in over 600 patients aged 65-85. The main goal is to see if it lowers the risk of post-surgery delirium in the week following an operation.
