New anesthesia drug tested to stop Post-Surgery confusion in seniors
NCT ID NCT07265128
Summary
This study aims to see if a newer anesthesia drug (remimazolam) causes less post-surgery confusion (delirium) than the commonly used drug (midazolam) in older adults having heart valve surgery. Researchers will randomly assign 300 patients aged 65+ to receive one of the two drugs during their procedure. The main goal is to measure and compare how many patients experience delirium in the four days following their surgery.
